|John Delaney and Stephen Staunton visit RISSC (London)|
A packed audience of Republic of Ireland Soccer Supporters Club (London) members, welcomed FAI Chief Executive John Delaney to their March 2006 meeting.
John presented a detailed analysis and review of the position of football in Ireland today and highlighted current FAI activities.
He outlined the aims, plans and vision for the game which the Association intended to pursue.
He stressed the benefits to local communities and Irish society in general from the continued development and expansion of the game. The role of supporters within these future plans was discussed and members had the opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinions on all relevant matters.
RISSC (London) members were further delighted by the surprise visit of international team manager Stephen Staunton. A confident and relaxed Staunton answered a wide range of questions from the audience and later presented Colin Gallagher with a 20 year RISSC Club membership award.
Delaney and Stephen Staunton took time to meet with members on an individual
basis following the formal club meeting.
