2012 Charity Quiz

2012 Charity Quiz in aid of The Aisling Project

Our Seventh Annual 2012 Charity Quiz Night took place on Friday the 3rd of February. It was held in the Sala Room at the Crown Moran Hotel. Almost thirty teams took part and it again provided a drama packed evening.2012 Charity QuizPresiding over the event was quizmaster Michael Mulvaney. Michael together with his team, comprising Paul Luscombe and Stephen Turner created the challenging and vibrant scenario for the evening.
As members and guests weaved their way through the educational maelstom set by our erudite quizmaster and his team, a certain air of inevitability transcended the occasion and the spectre of ‘Quiz King’ Colm Finnegan, this time accompanied by nephew Christopher Finnegan, filled the night.

Special guest, Alex McDonnell, together with colleague Joe, representing ‘The Aisling Project’, offered an element of challenge. They were unable to overcome the Wicklow Whizz and his worthy adjutant. ‘King Colm’ duly collected another winning trophy, his fourth in seven years. He is now reported to be considering an extension to his Wicklow residence to house all the silverware.2012 Charity QuizAt the end of another successful event, Club Chair, Dec Finnegan presented the winner and runner-up trophies. The trophies were kindly sponsored by CARA Stationery & Office Supplies Limited. Declan also thanked all the participants, both members and guests, for their contribution to another splendid event.2012 Charity QuizThe club extends it’s gratitude to long standing member Gerry Keany, founder of Cara Stationery. Also thanks to Caron, Paul and Stephen who gave their time to lend their assistance and expertise to MC Michael.

We are delighted to have been able to present our nominated charity for this year – Aisling – Return to Ireland Project, with a cheque for £900 from the proceeds of the evening.2012 Charity Quiz
