Airtricity League action on Friday evening

Match Series Eight in the Airtricity League Premier Division saw just three contests this Friday evening with the RSC meeting of Waterford and Shamrock Rovers topping the bill on RTE 2. The hosts secured a two one victory in a vibrant encounter which saw the visitors reduced to ten men with the tenth minute dismissal of Ally Gilchrist for two bookable offences in a matter of minutes. Bottom sides, Bohemian and Bray Wanderers met in Dalymount Park with the hosts scoring a two one success while St Patrick’s Athletic scored the only goal to defeat Limerick in Richmond Park.

Match Series Seven in the Airtricity League Premier Division took place this Friday evening with current leaders Cork City journeying to face Munster rivals Limerick in the Markets Field in a contest which ended in a one all draw. Waterford travelled to Oriel Park where Dundalk scored a very late winner to supercede them in second place. Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic went head to head in Tallaght Stadium with the hosts prevailing with the only goal. Derry City played their second match at the refurbished Brandywell and crushed struggling Bray Wanderers by five goals to one. Dalymount Park hosted the meeting of Bohemian and Sligo Rovers which ended in a two all draw.

The Airtricity League Premier Division continued this Monday evening with current leaders Cork City scoring the only goal to defeat Shamrock Rovers in Turner’s Cross while second place Waterford also scored a one nil success over Bohemian in the Regional Sports Centre. St Patrick’s Athletic held Dundalk to a scoreless draw in Richmond Park while Derry City celebrated their return to the refurbished Brandywell with a five nil victory over Limerick with Ronan Hale scoring a hat-trick. The Carlisle Ground meeting of Bray Wanderers and Sligo Rovers ended in a two one victory for the visitors.

Airtricity League resumed on Friday evening

Following last weekend’s weather enforced break, the Airtricity League Premier Division resumed this Friday evening with the Oriel Park meeting of Dundalk and Cork City topping the bill. The match was shown live on EIR Sport and in a fraught affair, the hosts prevailed by one goal to nil to close the gap to just one point behind the leaders. Bohemian went down to a one nil defeat to Dublin rivals St Patrick’s Athletic in Dalymount Park while further south, Tallaght Stadium saw Shamrock Rovers crush Derry City by six goals to one with Graham Burke scoring a quartet. The Markets Field witnessed Limerick score the only goal to defeat visitors Bray Wanderers while Sligo Rovers, playing their fourth straight home match, suffered a two one defeat by second place Waterford in the Showgrounds.
