Airtricity League contests on Monday…26/02/2018

There were three Airtricity League Premier Division contests played on Monday evening. Shamrock Rovers crushed visitors Bray Wanderers by six goals to nil in Tallaght Stadium while the RSC saw hosts Waterford defeat St Patricks Athletic by two goals to nil. Sligo Rovers were defeated by four goals to one in the Showgrounds by defending champions Cork City, the only side with maximum points after the first two sets of league fixtures.

2018 Airtricity League continued this weekend

Fixture Series Two in the 2018 Airtricity League Premier Division commenced on Friday evening with Bray Wanderers losing by two goals to one against St Patrick’s Athletic in the Carlisle Grounds while down on the South coast, defending champions Cork City secured a two nil victory over newly promoted Waterford in Turners Cross.

In the North West, Sligo Rovers defeated visitors Derry City by two goals to one in the Showgrounds while Tallaght Stadium hosted a scoreless draw between Shamrock Rovers and Dundalk. The Markets Field hosted the one all draw between Limerick and Bohemian on Saturday evening.

The First Division also commenced on Friday evening with Cabinteely losing to the only goal from Wexford at Stradbrook. Galway United commenced their campaign with a four one defeat of Athlone Town in Eamonn Deacy Park while The Bowl hosted the two one seccess of UCD over visitors Shelbourne. The Saturday evening contest between Longford Town and Cobh Ramblers ended in a two all draw.

2018 Airtricity League season kicked-off this evening

The 2018 Airtricity Leagues season commenced this Friday evening with defending champions Cork City getting off to a flying start with a three two victory at St Patrick’s Athletic, while Dundalk were held to a scoreless draw by Bray Wanderers in Oriel Park. The RTE 2 cameras brought live action from Dalymount Park where bitter Dublin rivals Bohemian and Shamrock Rovers went head to head with the hosts coming from behind to secure a three one victory. Promoted First Division champions Waterford welcomed Derry City to the RSC for their opening Premier Division challenge and emerged victorious by two goals to one.
