U18s defeat Romania on Sunday

Head Coach Jim Crawford saw his Ireland U18 side defeat visitors Romania by two goals to one in this afternoon’s friendly international played at Whitehall, home of Home Farm FC. First half goals from Conor Tee of Leicester City and Cieran Dunne of Falkirk earned the victory. The two sides will meet again at Whitehall on Tuesday morning at 11.30am.

U19s win crucial contest on Saturday afternoon

Following their diaappointing opening draw with Slovakia at the Elite Stage of the 2018 European Championship, our U19 side defeated Kosova by three goals to nil on match day two in Vila do Conde this Saturday afternoon. The victory maintains their hopes of qualification for the July finals but that still remains a very tough ask as they must defeat hosts Portugal, who have won both their opening contests, in the group decider on Tuesday afternoon. This afternoon’s goal scorers were Michael Obafemi (Southampton), Lee O’Connor (Manchester United) and Rowan Roache (Blackpool).

U17s earn UEFA Finals qualification

Having commenced their challenge with an excellent three nil success over FYR Macedonia on Wednesday last, our Ireland U17 side secured their place at the Championship Finals to be hosted by England during May 2018 with a two nil victory over Georgia in Poland this afternoon. Goals from Troy Parrott (Tottenham Hotspur) and Sean Brennan (Southampton) secured this afternoon’s success and removes pressure from their final Group Three contest against hosts Poland on Tuesday next.
