Brentford had John Egan back in the starting eleven with Alan Judge a late substitute in the one all draw with visitors Preston North End who included Greg Cunningham, who was dismissed on seventy four minutes, and Alan Browne in their starting eleven with Daryl Horgan a very late substitute. John O’Shea started for the ‘Makems’ with Aiden McGeady a seventy first minute substitute and goal scorer ten minutes later. Enda Stevens retained his starting position for Sheffield United who defeated Leeds United and Eunan O’Kane by two goals to one at Bramall Lane in the early kick-off. Runaway leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers had Matt Doherty in their starting eleven for the two one victory over visitors Queens Park Rangers.
