Championship action on Saturday afternoon…20/01/2018

The Championship continued on Saturday afternoon with Aston Villa (Conor Hourihane, Scott Hogan, Glenn Whelan) defeating Barnsley by three goals to one at Villa Park, Hogan scored twice in the opening seven minutes with Hourihane adding the third on nineteen minutes. Bolton Wanderers held Ipswich Town (Stephen Gleeson, David McGoldrick, Aaron Drinan) to a one all draw while Leeds United (Conor Shaughnessy) went down to a four three defeat by Millwall at Elland Road with Aiden O’Brien scoring the opener. Norwich City (Wes Hoolihan) went down by two goals to one against Sheffield United (Enda Stevens) at Carrow Road. Preston North End (Greg Cunningham, Alan Browne, Daryl Horgan) drerw one each with Birmingham City at Deepdale while QPR went down to a three nil home defeat by Middlesbrough (Darren Randolph, Cyrus Christie). Reading (Liam Kelly) suffered a one nil home defeat by Brentford with Martin O’Neill rumoured to be a possible attendee. Sunderland (John O’Shea, Aiden McGeady) scored the only goal for victory over Hull City (David Meyler, Will Keane) at the Stadium of Light while leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers (Matt Doherty) suffered a shock two nil home defeat by Nottingham Forest.
