The Championship on Saturday afternoon…24/02/2018

Fulham continued their Championship promotion challenge with a two nil victory over current leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage this afternoon. Cyrus Christie was an unused substitute for the victors while Matt Doherty was in his customery wing back position for the visitors. Eunan O’Kane was in midfield action for Leeds United who scored the only goal to defeat visitors Brentford at Elland Road where John Egan started with Alan Judge again a late substitute. Alan Browne and Greg Cunningham started and Daryl Horgan was a late substitute for Preston North End who surprisingly lost at home to the only goal from visitors Ipswich Town. Liam Kelly scored an early goal for Reading as did Richard Keogh for their visitors Derby County as the sides played out a three all draw at the Madejski Stadium. The Stadium of Light also hosted a three all draw between hosts Sunderland for whom John O’Shea started with Aiden McGeady a late substitute and Middlesbrough who had Darren Randolph on goalkeepng duty. The Aston Villa trio of Conor Hourihane, Scott Hogan and Glenn Whelan all started at Sheffield Wednesday with Hourihane and Whelan both scoring as their side ran out four two victors.
