Former U21 international Aaron Drinan scored twice for the victors while Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee Lewis Richards for the hosts was forced off through injury on 30 minutes and replaced by another former U21 international in Simon Power. Middlesbrough loanee Calum Kavanagh was a 58th minute substitute for the hosts.
