Our hopes of qualifying for a first ever European Championship Finals at U21 level received an unexpected boost in Kalmar this Tuesday evening when Sweden, who went down to a one nil defeat in Iceland on Friday last, defeated previously unbeaten top seeds Italy by three goals to nil. There was also something of a surprise result in the meeting of the bottom sides, with Luxembourg scoring their first goals and collecting their first points after six matches, following a two one victory over visitors Armenia.
