Match series two in the Airtricity League Premier Division took place this Friday evening with Cork City going down to a two nil home defeat by Munster rivals Waterford in Turner’s Cross. Defending champions Dundalk journied to face promoted Finn Harps in Finn Park and were held to a one all draw. Derry City travelled to take on Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght Stadium where they suffered a two nil defeat. The Showgrounds was the venue for the meeting of Sligo Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic which saw new host manager Liam Buckley face his former club and suffer disappointment as the visitors scored the only goal in added time. Promoted First Division champions UCD went down to a two nil defeat by Bohemian in the Bowl.
