Last gasp victory for U21s in European qualifier
A goal from Yeovil Town defender Shaun Donnellan, nine minutes into added time and the final action of the match, secured a one nil victory for our Ireland U21 side in their European Championship qualifying contest with Azerbaijan in Tallaght Stadium this evening. Despite dominating for much of the match, Ireland simply could not find the net until that dramatic finale. Ireland now move into second place in Group Five, three points behind leaders Germany, who were held to a scoreless draw in Kosova today, but with a match in hand. There is now a lengthy wait before Ireland travel to face Kosova on Friday the 7th September before taking on Germany in Tallaght Stadium four days later on Tuesday the 11th September.
U17s defeat Poland in Group Three decider
With their place at the Championship Finals in England already secured, our U17 side topped the table with maximum points following their one nil victory over hosts Poland in their final Group Three Elite qoalifying contest in Legnica this Tuesday afternoon. The winner came courtesy of a Troy Parrott penalty on forty eight minutes. The squad now await the draw for the Championship Finals in England which is scheduled for Thursday the 5th April.
U19s go down to defeat on Tuesday afternoon
Rep. of Ireland U19 side went down to a four nil defeat by hosts Portugal in their final contest at the Elite Stage of the 2018 European Championship on Tuesday afternoon which spelled their exit from the competition.
U18s lose to Romania in second friendly contest
Following their two one friendly international victory over Romania on Sunday afternoon, our U18 side returned to Whitehall for an 11.30am kick-off this Tuesday morning when the visitors gained revenge with a one nil success.
