There was disappointment for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Matt Doherty as they suffered a one nil defeat by Spanish side Sevilla in the single leg quarter-final of the 2020 Europa League on Tuesday evening in the neutral venue of Duisberg in Germany. The Spanish side were much more dominant and deserved their victory although a first half penalty miss by Wolves might have changed the dynamic.
The victors will face Manchester United in the semi-final on Sunday the 16th August while the winners of Tuesday evening’s other quarter-final Shakhtar Donetsk, who defeated FC Basel by four goals to one, will meet Inter Milan on Monday the 17th August.
