Friday night in the Airtricity League…11/03/2022

 

Match Series Five in the Airtricity League Premier Division took place this Friday evening with bitter Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers and Bohemian locking horns in Tallaght Stadium where the hosts scored  the only goal for victory. Shelbourne and Dundalk shared the spoils with a one all draw in Tolka Park. Finn Harps went down to a two nil defeat by visitors St Patrick’s Athletic in Finn Park while Drogheda United also suffered  a home defeat going down by three goals to nil to Sligo Rovers in Head in the Game Park.  The scheduled meeting of UCD and Derry City fell foul to weather conditions and was postponed.

There were three Match Series Four contests completed in the Airtricity League First Division with Bray Wanderers going down to a three one defeat by Galway United in the Carlisle Grounds. Cork City emerged victorious by two goals to nil against Cobh Ramblers in Turner’s Cross. The ‘South East Derby’ meeting of Waterford and Wexford went the way of the hosts by two goals to one in the RSC. The scheduled meeting of Treaty United  and Longford Town was  victim of weather conditions and postponed.
