The Republic of Ireland have been drawn in Group A of the European qualifying section for the 2022 World Cup alongside Portugal, Serbia, Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.
In a late unexpected move the Final Tournament hosts Qatar will participate in Group A on a friendly basis.
The match schedule will commence on Wednesday 24 March 2021 with a trip to Serbia.
