U16s complete Victory Shield involvement…01/11/2019

Following their two disappointing opening defeats, our Republic of Ireland U16 side completed their involvement in the 2019 Victory Shield Quadrangular Tournament with a one all draw against Northern Ireland at noon on Friday in Colliers Park, Wrexham. Our goal came on 18 minutes from Bohemian striker Cian Kelly but our opponents equalised on the half hour mark.

U16 Head Coach Paul Osam made several changes to his starting eleven for their second Victory Shield contest against hosts Wales in Colliers Park, Wrexham at 2pm on Wednesday afternoon. The first half of the contest was fairly even but Ireland imploded again in the second half to concede four goals without reply.

Ireland commenced their challenge against Scotland on Monday the 28th October and suffered a crushing four nil defeat.
