U17 Women top qualifying group…15/10/2021

 

With progress to the next stage already assured for both , our U17 Women completed their qualification round with a two one victory over  mini-tournament hosts Norway in Sandnes this Friday afternoon. Lia O’Leary gave Ireland the lead on the stroke of half-time but the hosts equalised in the 83rd minute. Ireland refused  to settle for the draw and substitute Joy Ralph scored the winner in the first minute of added time having entered the fray just four minutes earlier.

Our U17 Women continued their qualification challenge with a three nil victory over  Bulgaria in Sandnes early this Tuesday afternoon. Orlaith O’Mahony gave Ireland the lead on 26 minutes and Ellie Long added a second on 38 minutes in a dominant performance. The score was further embellished in first half added time with a penalty converted by captain Abbie Larkin

Our Republic of Ireland U17 Women under the guidance of Head Coach James Scott commenced their European Championship Group 1 qualification campaign at 1pm on Saturday afternoon when they faced Hungary in Sandnes, Norway and secured  a three one victory. Ireland got off to a flying start with Abbie Larkin scoring after just 3 minutes. Jodie Loughrey added  a second on 23 minutes and captain Larkin scored her second on 70 minutes. Hungary scored a late consolation in the 90th minute.  Our other Group 1 opponents Bulgaria and mini-tournament hosts Norway face each other at 4.30pm in the same venue.
