Champions and Europa League Draws…09/08/2020

The First and Second Qualifying Round draws in the 2020/21 Champions League and the Europa League Preliminary Round draw were made at UEFA Headquarters in Nyon on Sunday/Monday the 9/10th August 2020.

In the Champions League, Dundalk were drawn away to Slovenian champions NK Celje but as that country is not on the Covid 19 Green List, the one off tie will be played at the Szusza Fernc Stadium, Ujpest a suburb of Budapest in Hungary. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7pm on Wednesday the 19th August. If Dundalk progress they will have home advantage in the one off second qualifying round against the winners of the Molde(Norway) and KuPs(Finland)tie on Wednesday the 26th August 2020.
Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic take on Icelandic champions KR Reykjavik in Celtic Park in the first round and if successful will again have home advantage in the second round against the winners of the Ferencvaros(Hungary) and Djurgarden(Sweden) tie.

In the Europa League Preliminary Round, Northern Ireland representatives Coleraine and Glentoran have been drawn at home to La Fiorita 1967 (San Marino) and HB Torshavn (Faroe Islands) respectively. The one off ties are scheduled for Thursday the 20th August.
In the first qualifying round draw, Shamrock Rovers have been drawn at home to Tampere(Finland) while their are away ties for Bohemian against Fehervar(Hungary) and Derry City against Riteriai (Lithuania). If successful in the Preliminary round, Coleraine will travel to face NK Maribor(Slovenia) while Glentoran face the short journey to Motherwell(Scotland). The one off ties are set to be played on Thursday the 27th August 2020.
